Ever been for a 5km run where you have pushed yourself as hard as you can, then as you finish, you sit down for 10mins (not stretching), then you stand up and go for another 5km run as hard as you can..?
I wouldn’t like to think you do that but imagine how hard it might be the second time around, heck, imagine if you did that run the third time.. Now imagine if you just kept walking for 10-15 minutes in between the runs, you may find it tough, but not as tough as getting up from sitting down for those 10 minutes. In fact, you might even find the second run a breeze since you kept moving during the rest periods. You didn’t the body time to rest and have lactic acid build-up preventing you from getting sore.
This can be a metaphor for any situation in life as well as your training. You see, the hardest part of your training will no doubt be the start, but as you progress, it gets easier and then we have to change your way of training, but the one thing we have to keep in mind is that you must keep moving. If you only trained sporadically say once a week, the training will be so much harder as compared to training 2-3 times a week. If you keep moving, as long as you are being active (yes walking is being active) then you will be doing a far better justice to your training, and your training will be improved in quality and you will be ready to reap the benefits of this.
